Self-Care Day Checklist: (from a certified cozy girl)

If you have been feeling the weight of a busy season lately or feel like your cup is starting to run dry it might be time for a dedicated reset day.

Self-care isn't always glamorous. It can just mean treating yourself like a friend and doing the things that actually help you decompress.

These are just some steps I currently take for a proper cozy reset 🤎

Start with a slow morning ☀️

The first rule of a reset day is just simply letting the sun be your alarm clock. I try to avoid reaching for my phone the second I wake up because that instant hit of dopamine usually leaves me feeling more tired.

Instead, its good to take a few minutes to just exist in your space and practice a bit of mindfulness before your feet even hit the floor.

Its refreshing to let your brain a chance to wake up at its own pace.

brain dump ✍️

Once I am up, I head straight to my journal for a little brain dump. I write down every single lingering thought, worry, or to-do list item that is taking up space in my head.

By getting it all on paper, I am giving my busy brain permission to stop holding onto those things for the rest of the day.

Warm up your body🧼

I am a huge believer in the bath ritual. There is something so restorative about dipping into warm water with a scent that makes you feel happy.

I love gourmand soaps that smell like baked goods like cinnamon buns because it makes the whole room smell like a bakery.

I also love using a dry brush to get my circulation moving and help me feel refreshed for the day ahead.

Curate your comfort collection 🥣

A reset day requires a curated comfort collection. This means taking stock of your favorite snacks, drinks, and comfort shows to have them ready when you need them.

It could be a nostalgic bowl of soup and an episode of a nostalgic show. It is all about incorporating those small joys throughout the day so you never feel depleted.

Get a little creative🎨

I always make sure to schedule in some dedicated hobby time during a reset.

Whether it is making progress on an ongoing project or trying something brand new, being creative is so healing for the soul.

I personally love pulling out my watercolor palette or my coloring books to make something colorful in my hobby nook.

Seek out fresh air and a change of scenery 🌳

Even the most committed homebody (like me lol) needs a bit of fresh air.

I try to spend at least a few minutes outside to avoid feeling too cooped up. Sometimes that means taking my Switch out to the patio for a bit of cozy gaming under the sun or simply opening the windows to let the house breathe.

A change of scenery is often all it takes to shift your perspective.

Final Cozy Thoughts 💛

Rest is not a reward you have to earn. It is a necessity for your well-being.

By taking the time to nourish your body and mind, you are ensuring that you can show up for the world as your most authentic self.

I hope this checklist reminds you to be gentle with yourself today!

Stay cozy.
